For years, I’ve walked this same path.

Every time I passed the beach, I’d have the same thought.

I should jump in!

But then another thought always followed.

Not today…

I’m not wearing the right clothes.

I have sneakers on.

I’m just out for a walk.

So I’d keep walking.

It wasn’t really about the shoes.

It was about how often we talk ourselves out of the things that make us feel alive.

Since coming home from my trip, something has changed.

I’m practicing listening to that quiet voice instead of talking over it.

So this time…

I took off my shoes.

I walked into the ocean.

I floated.

And somewhere between the water holding me and the sun on my face, I realized something.

Freedom doesn’t always arrive through loud, life-changing moments.

Sometimes it looks like saying yes to the tiny voice that whispers…

Go.

I’m learning that choosing myself isn’t one big decision.

It’s a hundred ordinary ones.

Today…

I chose the water.

Lately I’ve been learning that feeling safe isn’t about hiding. It’s about creating enough safety within myself that I no longer need to hide. This little five-minute meditation came out of that realization. Years have now passed, where I have felt like I lived in two different worlds.

In one world, I was the woman who came alive through yoga, meditation, energy work, nature, intuition, healing, and all the things that fed my soul.

In the other world, I was the mom.

The scheduler.
The caretaker.
The one fixing things.
The one carrying the responsibility.
The one making sure everyone else was okay.

I never fully knew how to bring those worlds together.

So I kept them separate.

Not because anyone asked me to.

Because it felt safer that way.

But I’m trying something new.

I’ve stopped choosing between them.

I’ve stopped trying to make one more important than the other.

Instead, I’ve started building a BRIDGE.

A bridge between the woman who is devoted to her own becoming and the woman who is devoted to caring for others.

And what I’m discovering is that neither world was ever meant to replace the other.

They’re both me.

The more I allow them to meet, the more whole I feel.

Healing isn’t becoming someone new.

It’s allowing all the pieces of yourself to belong in the same room.

This week I guided one of the most beautiful classes I ever have.

Not because…

I learned a new technique.

Planned it perfectly.

Or tried harder.

It was beautiful because I stopped holding back.

I taught as myself.

The parts of me that love yoga.
The parts of me that love energy work.
The parts of me that love stillness.
The parts of me that love speaking about the feminine.
The parts of me that love helping women remember who they are.

For a long time, I thought growth meant becoming more.

Now it seems… that growth is often the opposite.

It’s allowing more of yourself to be revealed.

Less editing and performing.
Less fitting into what you think people expect.

More truth.

And the beautiful thing is that when you stop holding back who you are, the people who are meant for you feel it.

This week reminded me of that.

I kept wondering why no 👁️ one could see me.

Why relationships felt incomplete.

Why I felt unseen.

Why I wanted deeper connection but somehow never quite found it.

And then I realized something uncomfortable >>>

I wanted people to see me… while simultaneously:

~minimizing myself
~staying strong all the time
~staying useful
~staying capable
~protecting others from my truth
~protecting myself from disappointment
~only revealing certain parts of myself

I wanted people to know me…
But not too much.

I wanted people to stay…
But I was afraid of showing the parts that might make them leave.

And that tension is exhausting.

Over the last little while, I’ve been learning to stay with myself.

And I realized what I was really learning was…
How to stop hiding.

Because we all want to be seen.

But people can only see the parts we allow to be visible.

So now the practice isn’t becoming someone new.

The practice is letting her stay.

And letting others stay with her too.

🫠 Tonight that really is my current situation.

😳 Also my pants ripped today walking up the train station stairs.

😅 Then I got gum stuck to my arm, sweater, and bag because someone had stuck it underneath the train armrest.

🤯 And I’ve been sweating for what feels like 14 straight hours carrying luggage through multiple train stations while trying to figure out where I am, where I’m going, and whether I’m literally doing anything correctly.

But guess what?

I am loving every second of this life!

And that’s the part that feels IMPORTANT.

Because a year ago… I think I would’ve focused on every uncomfortable thing.

The heat.
The exhaustion.
The stress.
The things going “wrong.”

But now I just quietly chuckle because these are the moments that matter.

These are the moments that are revealing how fucking magical I am.

Because I’m alive.
Because I’m doing it.
Because I chose this.
Because every uncomfortable moment is reminding me how capable I actually am.

This is what FREEDOM feels like.

Not polished.
Not perfectly planned.
Not glamorous.

Just >>>
sweaty, exhausted, uncomfortable, proud, expanding, grateful, alive.

And the most magical part… is the awareness I now have when look at myself from the outside and think:

She is really doing this.

And I’m so proud of her.

Traveling alone has been stretching me in ways I expected…
and in ways I didn’t.

Not because anything bad is happening.

But because almost every part of it asks me to sit inside the uncomfortable.

Figuring out trains.
Walking unfamiliar streets.
Carrying my luggage through places I’ve never been.
Eating dinner alone.
Wondering if I’m doing things correctly.
Feeling obvious.
Feeling unsure.

And the interesting thing is…

everything is fine.
I am ok.

I’m just in new territory.

And I think that’s what growth feels like.

Not necessarily chaos…
or disaster…
just unfamiliarity.

The part of you that wants to hide away.
The part of you that wants certainty.
The part of you that wants someone else to take the lead.

But every time I move through one of these moments…

I trust myself a little more.

Every train.
Every walk.
Every uncomfortable meal.
Every unknown street.

It’s like I’m slowly proving to myself:

I can stay with me here too.

Honestly, I think that’s why uncomfortable experiences change us.

Because there’s nowhere to run.

You have to meet yourself more deeply inside them.

And on the other side of that…
there’s confidence.

Not loud confidence.
Not performative confidence.

Just a quiet knowing that says:

I can do hard things.
I can do new things.
I can trust myself through the unknown.

And that’s how we slowly become more ourselves.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to live my life more like I’m on holiday.

Not because I want to escape my life…
but because I want to fully live in it.

And I think part of it is this:

when we’re on holiday, we tend to treat moments differently.

We slow down.
We notice beauty.
We light candles.
We sit with our coffee.
We make breakfast feel special.
We walk instead of rush.
We let ourselves receive the moment.

This morning, breakfast was simple:
fruit, yogurt, bread, butter, jam, soft music in the background.

Nothing extravagant.
But it felt beautiful.

And I realized:
it only took a few extra minutes.

A few minutes to care for the moment.
A few minutes to care for myself.

I think that’s what I’m learning ~>

To stop waiting for special occasions, to fully live.

To stop believing joy only belongs to holidays, weekends, retreats, or… someday 🌈

Maybe living your best life is actually built in small moments.

The way you prepare your breakfast.
The way you walk through your morning.
The way you speak to yourself.
The way you allow beauty into ordinary days.

Almost like you’re hugging the moment while you’re inside it.

And honestly…
I want more of that.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

I said that to a friend recently after she made a big decision
and then the realization came in:

that’s true every day!

Not just after heartbreak…
after endings…
or after transformation…

Every. Single. Day.

And being here on retreat has reminded me how much I want to live that way.

More joy.
More connection.
More presence.
More moments that I actually feel alive.

Yes, we have responsibilities.
And yes ~> real life exists.

But I don’t think responsibility is meant to rule our lives.

I think love should.
Freedom should.
Wonder should.
What lights us up should.

And maybe healing is learning how to let those things matter again.

So today, I’m reminding myself:

this is the first day of the rest of my life.

And it is for you too 🙌
